Description
Once onboard you will receive a headset for the self-guided audio tour, which is narrated by sailors who lived or worked on the Midway. As you walk though the various exhibits, the sailors' narrations brings the Midway's history to life. You'll hear about their real life experiences of living on a floating city for months on end.
Exhibits you’ll see on the historic aircraft carrier range from the crew's sleeping quarters to a massive galley, engine room, the ship's jail, officer's country, post office, machine shops, and pilots' ready rooms, as well as primary flight control and the bridge high in the island over the flight deck.
Also on board are volunteer docents, many who either served on the USS Midway or are former Navy pilots. They provide live commentary on their experience in the Navy and life aboard the USS Midway aircraft carrier.
If you get hungry while on board the Fantail Café has a diverse menu with patio dining and a casual, friendly atmosphere.
Visiting the historic warship is a unique opportunity to step aboard on the longest-serving U.S. Navy carrier of the 20th century and largest ship in the world.
- Parking is available at the USS Midway for a minimal charge.
